Images of 34th Street Mini Golf Construction ⛳️
From Lisa on Facebook comes two images of construction on the new mini golf course from the O’Haras (Uncle Bill’s, Nauti Donuts):

The comments on this are mixed, with some residents complaining it will bring too much congestion to the area.
We spoke with Chris and Kelli O’Hara about the expansion last year and they explained why they think most customers won’t drive to the location.
Weather Coming ⛈️
You’ve probably heard much about the storm coming this weekend— it is expected to bring rain, winds, and perhaps a wintry mix to the area.
But as Nor’Easter Nick explains, we should worry more about a heavy rain and wind storm coming Tuesday, and not so much about the fast-moving weekend fare.
Saturday: Expect this one to move through the area in the mid and late day. It will be an entirely rain event at the Shore with mild flooding and beach erosion concerns. It should be out of the area by Sunday morning.
Tuesday: This one is more concerning, according to Nick. Since we’ve had so much rain, with the weekend storm bringing more, the ground and rivers have about as much as they can handle. This rain event will be “robust”, with winds potentially getting into the 50+ mph range. Combined with a new moon coming, previous rains, and the possibility of 3+ inches of rain over a 7-day period, this could lead to quite a bit of flooding, especially in inland areas downstream of snow melts farther north in the state.

🩳 First Day Plunge
The Press of Atlantic City and OCNJ Daily have a photo galleries of the First Day Plunge into the freezing cold ocean, which you can view here and here.
Truth be told, this didn’t need its own section. But I really wanted an excuse to use this GIF:
🌊 Beach Erosion Photos
The storms over the holidays didn’t do any favors to the North End beaches that had been replenished last winter.
Just look at some of these photos from the Boardwalk area last week:

Just as the South End is getting replaced, the North End washes away.
📺 Video of the Week: Speeding Cargo Ships are Killing Whales
The irony of this is that massive wind farms might have forced the ships to slow down 😬
