Ocean City Named Best Beach in the Northeast!
🏖 Are you surprised?
So I kept forgetting to put a link to this in the newsletter, but it looks like OC didn’t need the help!
USA Today had an ongoing poll for best beach in the Northeast, and, indeed, Ocean City has won.
Ocean City in New Jersey features a wide sandy shoreline that stretches for about 8 miles along the Atlantic Ocean. With a family-friendly atmosphere, there are lifeguards on duty during the summer season and various amenities available to make it safe and convenient for families. When you need a break, adjacent to the beach is a lively and bustling boardwalk that is lined with dining, shopping and entertainment options.
The best part? We get to stick it to the likes of Delaware, New York, and those also-rans in OC, MD. Here’s 2-10:
Jones Beach State Park - Wantagh, New York
Bethany Beach - Bethany Beach, Delaware
Cape May beaches - Cape May, New Jersey
Ocean City Beach - Maryland - Ocean City, Maryland
Mohegan Bluffs - New Shoreham, Rhode Island
Good Harbor Beach - Gloucester, Massachusetts
Belmar Beach - Belmar, New Jersey
Rehoboth Beach - Rehoboth Beach, Delaware
Atlantic Avenue Beach - Amagansett, New York
Mayor Gillian, who will allow teen raves on this best beach over his dead body, offered up a quote through the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce:
“It’s great to see Ocean City achieve this honor,” Mayor Jay Gillian said. “Ocean City has always been No. 1 in the hearts of so many of our residents and guests, and it’s a tradition for generations of families. I want to congratulate and thank the city team, our public safety departments, the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Tourism Development Commission, the Boardwalk and Downtown Merchants associations, local businesses, all volunteer groups and the entire community in making Ocean City a wonderful place to live, work and play.”
